What this service is

Bayou Claims Group provides records research related to excess proceeds held by the Harris County District Clerk. We compile and verify information from public records. We are not a law firm, we do not provide legal advice, and we do not file petitions or other legal documents on your behalf.

No fee contingent on recovery

Under Texas Tax Code §34.04(i), only a licensed attorney may charge a fee contingent on obtaining excess proceeds for someone. We are not attorneys. Any fee we charge is a flat fee for research services, disclosed and agreed to in advance, and is not contingent on whether you ultimately recover any funds.

No guarantee

We make reasonable efforts to verify case information against official public records, but we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information provided, and we do not guarantee that any petition will be approved or that any funds will be recovered.

You are always free to act independently

Nothing about this service prevents you from researching, verifying, or claiming excess proceeds yourself, at no cost beyond court filing fees, or from hiring any attorney of your choosing.

Attorney directory

The attorney directory is a paid, self-serve advertising listing. We do not match, screen, recommend, or refer you to any specific attorney, and inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement of any attorney's qualifications.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bayou Claims Group is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this service or reliance on information we provide.
